Our policy on product comparison and recommendation and on confirming customer intentions, and our basic policy on the protection of personal information. (Reference translation; in case of any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails.)
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that, when soliciting insurance products, the Company properly carries out “confirmation of customer intentions” and “comparison and recommendation sales” in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and it sets out the “criteria for selecting recommended products,” the “procedures for explaining to customers,” and the “procedures for recording and retention,” among other matters.
Through this policy, the Company aims to ensure that its officers and employees carry out sincere and appropriate solicitation activities with full consideration for the protection of policyholders and others.
In principle, the Company selects recommended insurers from among the insurers it represents in accordance with the policy set out below, and recommends the products of those insurers to customers.
From among the life and non-life insurers it represents, and after consultation with partner agencies, insurers’ direct sales staff and others, the Company designates the following as recommended insurers.
If a customer wishes to purchase products from an insurer other than the recommended insurers set out in Article 3, we will respond in accordance with the customer’s wishes and present and sell the products of the requested insurer.
When renewing an existing insurance contract, we in principle recommend the products of the insurer of the current contract. However, if the customer does not wish to continue, we will present and sell the products of the insurer of the customer’s choice, in the same way as for a new contract.
When comparing multiple products at a customer’s request, we provide clear and fair information in accordance with laws and internal rules, and make appropriate proposals and sales.
To improve the quality of comparison and recommendation sales, we share information and provide guidance to all solicitors on the products and administrative procedures of the insurers we represent, hold regular training sessions and study meetings, and strengthen our internal training and management system.
Using separately established methods, the Company regularly self-inspects whether solicitation activities are being carried out properly in accordance with this policy and internal rules, ensuring the soundness and transparency of its operations.
In accordance with laws and internal rules, the Company properly prepares and retains the necessary records of the confirmation of customer intentions, the comparison and recommendation process, and the content of explanations at the time of solicitation.
Records are retained for a set period, with a system in place that allows them to be checked promptly during audits and business reviews.
The Company complies with relevant laws, industry standards and its internal rules, and works to prevent violations by solicitors and to ensure sound solicitation activities.
The Company also appoints a compliance officer and maintains a system for continuous improvement through internal audits and training.
The Company responds sincerely and promptly to complaints and inquiries from customers.
We appoint a person responsible for handling complaints, record and manage the status of each case from receipt to resolution, and continuously review our processes to prevent recurrence.
